Summer interns

Our firm is offering an exciting opportunity in the construction field.  It is our desire to hire students during the summer months and train them in our specific field with the intent of developing interest in a future, full-time career.

Applicants will have to meet the following basic requirements: 

• Interest in heavy construction, specifically earthmoving.
• Minimum completion of sophomore year with a major in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Experienced user of Windows 95/98 and Microsoft Office
• Versatility to work inside and outside
• Willingness to work long hours
• Willingness to work in Northwest Chicago suburban area.

A brief overview of this position includes:

• Blueprint reading
• Surveying – from staking to setting grades with a laser and Lenker rod.
• Job Management – from mass operations to fine grade operations.
• Estimating – from quantity takeoffs to writing proposals.
• Majority of time will be spent on actual job sites.
